Suspension question.
#1
Well I was just over on the Jet and saw a thread regarding fender height. So out of curiosity I went out and measured up both Focuses in the driveway. The Mother In Laws is sitting at 26" front and 27" in the rear. Mine on the other hand is 24.25" rear and this is where it gets strange. Left front is 24" and right front is 25".

My suspension setup is as follows SVT Dampers, FRPP Springs with the rear spring isolators removed from the rear coils. The front struts were assembled by a Ford Tech at Eastcourt Ford last spring.

Anyone have an idea why I'm sitting high on the right front?

I'll pull it out on the street and remeasure but my driveway is pretty flat.

Ok on the street it evened out. 24.25" rear and 24.5" front. Going to have to figure out how to get the front lower to give it some rake. But not like John's. LOL. Sorry Johnny, have to every chance I get. Anyone have an idea how I can get the front down another 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch without going to coilovers?

Seriously... measuring how far you are from the ground lol and wanting to be lower. It's called air bags lol. We all saw that beat up Honda on Bags, he was grinding Fiberglass lol.

Also joke all you want because I just booked in some wrench time in 2 weeks. It'll be faster and lower lol So you get one more Massiv Meet to make fun so everyone better take pics of the awesome rake lol.

BTW I haven't measured my fenders but I will for you... Big Grin

cut a dead coil, wont effect spring rates or handling, just drops it the thickness of the spring.

Would it not be safer to torch the coil till they sag?

bad idea, heat effects the spring rate, when the coils sag, the car will ride like a bag and bounce all over the place due to soft springs.

best thing to do it use a hack saw and keep the springs in a bucket of water while cutting the coil to keep the springs from warming up during cutting.
