Potetial Transmission Issue
#1
Hey All,

Been a while since I posted here but figured I would see if any of you had this problem. Recently when I put my focus in reverse and backup the car makes a grinding sound. The shifter doesn't feel like its trying to pop out of gear or anything. Have any of you had this problem before?

Car is a Focus LX 2.0L SPI with a 5 speed Manual Tranny. All stock no mods.

worn brake pads dragging?
or a bearing.

It doesn't happen when moving forward though...could this still be a brake pad issue.

When you say Bearing...you mean wheel bearing right?

i'm guessing three things

rear wheel bearing, rear brakes (which you guys have already said) or a parking brake that needs adjusting.

if it was a tranny issue it would more than likely be difficulty/grinding getting into reverse, clunking, or popping out of gear. good thing it isn't any of these, because tranny would be $$$ other stuff is not so bad

I am starting to Lean towards parking brake. Gonna get that checked out and see if it fixes the issue. Thanks for the help.
