Sticky Gas Pedal
#1
Have a 2005 Focus ZX-5 SES...

Does anyone else have a problem with the gas pedal catching at the top? Initially it only happened when it's cold (outside temp), but recently seems to happen at random... which can be a real drag with a 5-speed, let me tell you...

Anyhow... if anyone has any comments... bring 'em on... Biggorilla

Common problem. If you're still under warranty, take it in. If not, just add some lube on the spring mechanisim.

We just had one in here the other day under waranty and it neede the TB . Lubing the srpring is good if you have to pay but if the dealer says they are only going to do the lube you should make a fuss cause it will just start happening again down the road, and it is a striaght forward waranty claim for the dealer.

I have the same problem with my FC TB...I need to lubricate the spring mech, as well as the throttle cable, and sometimes take the DPFE sensor off the car and clean and dry it out, as moisture often renders it inoperable...

You may have some carbon build up around the trottle plate.....
