Gas Gauge Issue
#1
Well the last few times Ive filled up the SVTF the gas gauge never will go to full, this last time it only went to 3/4. I was just wondering if anybody has had a similar issue so when I take it to the dealer, I can give them a hint. Just on a side note I always fill up with Shell 91 octane (I had a cavalier that use to have problems with PetroC gas).

Thanks
David

on my focus same thing happened.. it was an issue with the fuel gauge sender unit. eventually my gauge went completely (ie read close to empty when i pumped in 10 gallons) and that's when i had it replaced

I am sure you are aware but just in case you aren't the Focus has a habit of not filling the tank fully. I can always add a few extra litres after the pump clicks off. It's a common issue with the Focus and I can't see the SVT being any different.

Yup, had the same issue, my fuel sending unit was repaired under warranty though.

I'll echo what others have said as it's almost certainly your fuel sending unit, but just be careful b/c the sending unit & the fuel pump are closely tied together, you'll probably be better off replacing both at once esp. if your car is of higher mileage...
