I bought some supposedly lowering springs for the zx3 used off someone, I was looking at them and comparing them to the oem ones on the car and they have the same amount of turns on the spring, I thought if theyre springs to lower the car they should have less turns?

i believe that the number of turns and the diameter of the steel would be a comparative to the spring rate on the particular spring. assuming ur lowering springs are a diff rate than OE ones its probably just random that they are the same.
lowering springs are not just cut shorter springs.

simple analogy- Try squeezing a block of sponge in your hand, and then try squeezing a block of ice the same size. Not the same right? Same way, your stock spring has a different compression ratio, and material, compared to the lowering springs.

Ford Racing springs are Blue. OEM springs are Black.
For no apparent reason I was under my car admiring mine tonight.

Well I guess they have yellow springs too. The ones I got from ZTWSquared and pictured in the Ford Racing catalog are deffinately blue.
