detailed SVT header installation instructions
T-dotzx3 and I used the above instructions which were pretty clear and straight forward.
Make sure the exhaust components are cooled down.
The stock EGR tube was a bitch to try to remove from the stock header, as was the O2 sensor closest to the flange on the stock cat. You may need a special O2 sensor socket that gives relief to the wires that are still attached to the sensor. Some of the bolts connecting the exhaust components may be rusty and seized.
You may have to relocate the power steering line that crossed in front of the engine. When I say relocate I mean move it out of the way when installing the SVT header and re-attaching it in a slightly different location to make room for the heat shield which I suggest putting on to keep the heat in control. The heat shield works extremely well in keeping the heat away from intake and radiator.
The fans have to be removed to give you more room to attach the header and heat shield.
The rest was pretty straight forward bolt together.
It did take us about 6 hours all together.
