I think that's the main point... Ford isn't exactly in the same position as GM and Chrysler... I know for a fact that GM had their heads up their collective asses at the VP level... Chrysler has had troubles making product that sells, and Ford seems to have been making positive changes because they were in trouble long before the meltdown.
Maybe being in trouble before the big meltdown is what will save Ford in the long run, since they're already adjusted to the new market. GM and Chrysler will have a much tougher time.
