tell me that aint the CAW, cause at John Deere the CAW BLOWS HARDCORE, i actually think they fight for the company.
YAY, 8 tier pay and im at the bottom!
can't believe i gotta pay those bums $40 a month for crap in return.
They don't even have a union steward(or anybody representing them) on every shift, they are all permanently on days
At our last contract, had a union meeting and they strongly advised us to vote for it. They had a booklet they handed out to everybody, that said 9% wage increase in big bold letters on the front page and they started the voting before they EVEN STARTED THE MEETING. A HUGE LOAD OF BS, and that 9% is just a base increase not your real pay , so it worked out it like just under 3% over 3 years. If the stupid POS CAW wouldn't have tricked all the members and if the members were smart and not to vote for it before they heard the meeting... ERRR The guys making more money before got a bigger raise than the lower tier guys, WTF!!!
and the barganing comitties reponses during the meeting were, "thats the best we could do", "thats a grey area", "we tryed but we couldn't get it" i heard they didn't even have anybody like a lawyer or anybody read over the contract.
but if there is one thing they do, do well is they keep people from getting fired, other than that, they get the lube so the company can stick it up our @$$e$
just venting, YAY i got a lay off notice today!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I check to make sure the torque is right on all those nuts and bolts that hold the Ford Freestar/Monterey together. Kinda like a firefighter, I sit around all day shooting the s**t until we get 'the call' and then spring into amazing action to check/correct any torque problem that may arise. The CAW is great. crazikev, if ya think there is something wrong with your local CAW, why not get involved and see what you can do about it?

Sounds the same to me at Ford. I have never, I repeat never voted yes for a contract. I know we are going to get bent over like a plumbers ass crack this year as contract year and they will tell us the same s**t. i will still vote no. Every year they tell us they are giving up nothing and 6 months after we voted there is an oh ya, we forgot to tell you this. Like the first year i worked there we gave up picking our vacation time in lieu of them telling us when we could vacation. We got a little more time off, but gave up the right to pick. I have 13 years in at Ford and only get to choose 1 1/2 weeks a year for my vacation.
Ok, poor me, I get a lot of time off.
I don't hate the union, I just don't agree with 99% of the bullshit they hand to the members. Now lets get off the union bash and back on topic.

I think I helped your sales quite a bit this year.. ;)
I'm a "pump attendant" at a gas station. But really I just run the cash register and tell the kids what to do, and do the things the manager doesnt (but should). Which really isnt so bad since we're unionized and I'm at the top of the scale now so I make quite a bit for not doing a lot.
I'm also 1 class away from getting my degree so hopefully I can have a "career" sometime soon.

In the military - IC ( da boss ) of a four man Geomatics team. We provide mapping support, GIS analysis, etc etc. In a nutshell we "show the way" - for the commanders in the field to make the correct decisions. Good job - been to Bosnia and Afghanistan.

I'm a buyer for a international mining contractor (yes I work with NOS).
We buy mostly mining gear, drill steel, underground mining equipment, safety supplies, etc, etc, etc.
On a given day, I can spend up to $50,000. One day I had to negotiate the purchase of a 45 ton underground truck and other associated equipment. Cost was around $2,000,000.00 if memory serves me.
Probably the most oddball thing I have bought is a firetruck.
You need it, we'll get it.
Its soo much fun buying stuff all day. :D
